# Development

## TL;DR — ASD-STE100 style

- Use the Node and pnpm versions in the theme package file.
- Run local checks before requesting review.
- Treat a Shopify preview as a store write.

## Setup and checks

Use Node 26 or later and the pnpm version pinned in `package.json`. Run `pnpm install --frozen-lockfile`, then `pnpm check`. Run `pnpm check:locales:cs` for the Czech locale gate when applicable. The [README](https://github.com/somavedic/shopify-theme-v2/blob/main/README.md) lists the current scripts and prerequisites.

## Preview boundary

`shopify theme dev` uploads files, even for a localhost preview. Use the guarded repository wrappers with a recorded owned unpublished theme and reviewed paths. Read [AGENTS.md](https://github.com/somavedic/shopify-theme-v2/blob/main/AGENTS.md) and the [development workflow](https://github.com/somavedic/shopify-theme-v2/blob/main/docs/DEVELOPMENT.md) before store operations. Local checks alone do not prove storefront acceptance.

## Documentation site

From `docs-site`, run `pnpm install`, `pnpm dev`, and `pnpm build`. Set `DOCS_SITE_URL` to the approved public origin before publishing; the default is for local use.
